Giovanna works between the Developmental Systems and Computational Biology group and pRED’s Ophthalmology department to develop a 3D cell culture model for dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD). She also combines stem cell-derived retina organoids, single-cell genomics, CRISPR genome editing and imaging technologies to study retinal diseases.
