Daniele Soroldoni

Daniele is Co-Director and Head of Scientific Operations at IHB.

He is an experienced researcher and executive with over a decade of expertise in life sciences, infrastructure management and scientific innovation. With his deep understanding of operations, he ensures the operational effectiveness of IHB, stewards the scientific excellence of cutting-edge technologies incubated within IHB and champions successful relationships between IHB and stakeholders.

Previous to joining IHB, Daniele served as the Managing Director and CEO of the Vienna BioCenter Core Facilities (VBCF), where he supervised all scientific and administrative operations and led strategic initiatives to enhance Vienna BioCenter’s research capabilities. Additionally, Daniele is an active member of the research infrastructure community and serves as an evaluator on international evaluations for renowned institutions like the Flanders Institute for Biotechnology (VIB), Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) and SciLifeLab in Sweden.

Previously, as a staff scientist at EPFL, he spearheaded the implementation of an automated fish core facility and built the supporting microscopy capabilities. His foundational scientific experience includes postdoctoral work at University College London, UK and MPI-CBG, focusing on infrastructure setup and research project coordination and tech development. Daniele earned his PhD in Developmental Biology from the Technical University of Dresden at the MPI-CBG.
