Stefan is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Metabolic Homeostasis group. He received his Master’s degree in biochemistry from ETH Zürich and completed his PhD at the Institute of Molecular and Clinical Ophthalmology (IOB) in Basel. His research background includes investigating macular degeneration using human retinal organoids, particularly performing large-scale compound screens with these organoids. At IHB, Stefan focuses on the innervation of adipose organoid models, aiming to generate human adipose tissue models to understand and characterise metabolic diseases.
