Marina is a PhD student in the Developmental Systems and Computational Biology group. She had joined the IHB as an intern in 2022. Together with the Microtechnologies group involved establishing multiplexed immunohistochemistry in microfluidic devices, as well as implementing in situ spatial transcriptomics. Recently, she embarked on her PhD journey to explore neurodevelopment and degeneration using both mouse and human retinal organoids.
Marina completed her Master’s degree at the Biozentrum at the University of Basel, Switzerland. Her research was centred on the development of blood vessels, with a particular emphasis on the vascularisation of the midbrain, using light sheet microscopy in zebrafish embryos.
