In his PhD, Marius aims at developing a next-generation Inflammatory Bowel Disease in vitro model by including integral patient-relevant cellular compartments that contribute to the multifactorial etiology in a recapitulative microenvironment. Ultimately, he wants to deploy cutting-edge methods on the novel organoid model to shed some light on underlying mechanisms driving this debilitating disease.
