Kristina works at the interface of cancer immunology and bioengineering with a focus on myeloid cells. For her thesis, she is developing advanced three-dimensional models of the tumour microenvironment from primary patient material and applies them to study the recruitment, polarisation, and interactions of tumour-associated macrophages with other cell types and their role in response to immunotherapy.
