Manuel is an intern in the Multi-Tissue Systems Engineering group. He is working with patient derived explant models as part of his master thesis. He characterises tumour explants after drug treatment using a variety of functional assays. Before joining IHB, Manuel worked as a scientific assistant in the cell biology and toxicology group at University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), where he assessed environmental chemicals and their effect on lipid metabolism using human liver models.
