Carla is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Microtechnologies group, dedicated to bridging the gap between biology and engineering. She earned her PhD from the University of Twente, where she developed advanced 3D hiPSC-based cardiac models-on-chip. Her current research focuses on integrating biological applications with cutting-edge microtechnologies, aiming for automation, standardization, and user-friendly innovations. These improvements will facilitate in vitro disease modeling and screening applications, bringing cutting-edge solutions closer to practical use.
