We seek to advance the field of human model systems by driving collaborations, sharing data and tools, and amplifying the community’s contributions. We collaborate with partners across the board, from academic labs to startups and leading academic and research institutions to complement our expertise and expand our capabilities.
IHB’s main academic partners are ETH Zurich and EPFL, the two Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology.
With the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), we are partnering on a Precision Medicine Lab Automation Challenge to deliver an automated robotic system for tumour specimen processing, drug testing and immune phenotyping.
To educate the world’s best junior researchers in the field of translational human model systems, the ETH Zurich Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering and Roche’s Institute of Human Biology launched a joint doctoral programme for Translational Engineering of Biological Systems in June 2023. Please feel free to check the eligibility criteria, browse the different research projects and submit your application here!
