Laura is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Metabolic Homeostasis group. She received her Master’s degree in biomedicine from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm and completed her PhD at ETH Zürich. With a strong focus on obesity/weight loss and multiOMICs data analysis, her background is in epigenetic and metabolic research. During her PhD she investigated the concept of metabolic memory and discovered that (human and mouse) adipose tissue retains an epigenetic memory of obesity that persists after weight loss. At IHB, Laura is dedicated to creating human adipose tissue models to study the pathophysiology of obesity and metabolic disease.
